Did you know that career is sometimes a false friend?

Carrera has three distinct translations:

1. race – it refers to a sports competition in which people compete to see who finishes first, or wins.
2. university course / Degree course / major / course – all of these words refer to the subject you study at university. For example, economics.
3. career – it refers to the professional life that usually comes after you have finished your studies.
